Divergent by Veronica Roth
This book is about the changes someone must make as they go from childhood
to adulthood. The main character is a girl name Beatrice who lies in a utopian
society. This society is made up of four "factions": Dauntless,
Candor, Abnegation, and Amity. The people are born into these factions,
but when they turn sixteen they may test into another faction.
Beatrice has turned sixteen and will soon take the test. What happens next
will blow the mind and embody the phrase "one choice can transform
you."
This book is for teens, as the violent deaths and romance are a bit much for
younger kids. Though it has some romance, it mostly has to do with
dare-devil and near suicidal stunts, such as jumping off a building without a
bungee cord. If a person is looking for a book that has good action
scenes and the slight hit of criticism of our own human situation, you will
like this book.
