The Kern Plateau and the southern Sierra Nevada are not as well known as the rugged High Sierra farther north.  But they have just as much to offer those who appreciate the spectacular array of landscapes found in California.  The gems found here include not only golden trout and Giant Sequoias but also an enormous diversity of plants and wildlife seldom found in one descrete corner of the Earth.
