For ages 11 and up, I would recommend The Door Within Trilogy, which include The Door Within, Rise of the Wyrm Lord, and the Final Storm, written by Wayne Thomas Batson.  These books take you to a whole new world with knights, dragons, and deadly warfare; to a land where loyalty is challenged, and truth is constantly questioned.

For more mature readers, perhaps 16 and older, due to some mature content, I would highly suggest The Mark of the Lion Trilogy, which includes the books A Voice in the Wind, Echo in the Darkness, and As Sure as the Dawn. They are written by Francine Rivers.

These books will catapult you back in time to the days of Rome, where Coliseums were the main attraction, Gladiators were the famed heroes of the land, and the lives of the wealthy could match any modern day soap opera. The story follows a young Jewish slave girl who struggles to cling to life, and do what is right in a land where morals and goodness are scoffed and persecuted.

House (Paperback)

$16.99
ISBN-13: 9781595541567
Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days
Published: WestBow Press, 3/2007

For readers that are Jr. High aged and up, House, by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti, is a book that I would suggest to everyone. The two masterful writers weave a tale that is unlike any other.

House is a thriller that will keep you awake through the night, either reading to find out what happens, or worrying that any noise you hear will be the mysterious killer. The plot works around a few unwilling participants who are thrust into the game of a deranged killer. They must play by his frightening rules and face their deepest fears while wondering which of them will live through the night to see the dawn.

Kiss (Paperback)

$16.99
ISBN-13: 9781595548191
Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days
Published: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 11/2009
For anyone who loves a good page-turner that keeps them guessing, I would recommend Kiss by Ted Dekker and Erin Healy. The combination of the two is compelling enough to still deliver just as much Dekker-style action packed suspense and plot twists, and also, throwing in some emotional and romantic elements that come with intertwining a womanly perspective. Kiss is a tale of betrayal, favoritism, mayhem and good verse evil. This is a mystery that can’t be solved until the final page is read.
