Kevin Morrison

Kevin was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He grew up in Downey, California, where he graduated from Warren High School in 1992. He went off to college to study journalism, with the dreams of becoming the next Rick Reilly at Sports Illustrated. There was no such luck, but Kevin found that combining his loves for writing and kids was a great match.

Kevin spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Washington D.C. He came home from the Air Force and reluctantly went on a blind date with a girl named Jill. Kevin and Jill have been married since 2001 and have two children, Layton and Holly. They are currently in the process of adopting their third child, a baby girl from China.

Here is a charming book for anyone who has ever felt out of place. It is the story of Frank, a chihuahua who lives with coyotes. But he is excluded from joining in their nightly desert lullaby because his jarring voice keeps the desert animals awake. Frank is sad, but not for long. When all the animals are threatened, it is Frank who saves the day. And in the end, Frank learns that what makes him different makes him special.

Stitches was a newly manufactured baseball. He wanted to make it to the big leagues, but his dreams were shattered when a defect was discovered in his stitching. So instead of an exciting major league career, destiny landed him in a secondhand store. This is a marvelous tale of how dreams come true in ways we least expect. It proves the old adage: When one door closes another door opens. And in Stitches' case, it is the door to the Hall of Fame.
