In an article in a local newspaper, Robbie Byrne wrote that “’Mulligan’s Pennies’ is loosely based on my life experiences, which include playing my bagpipes before the Queen of England in Buckingham Palace, my unloving upbringing, my marriage, and my wife dying of lung cancer. The (book) idea came to me the first time I was in California on vacation (and I began) finding tarnished and bright, shiny pennies. The tarnished pennies appeared when some negative event happened; the shiny pennies appeared when something good (happened).”
A romantic story of love and renewal, “Mulligan’s Pennies” is a deeply personal tale which the author hopes not only entertains, but helps the reader “to overcome their pain and to look at life in a different way”. Robbie will sign his book at Russo’s Marketplace on Monday, March 17 at 1 p.m. And yes, he will also be playing the bagpipes.
