For a great selection of quality used books, come to Russo's Book Mark. Since 1989 we have provided Bakersfield the best in popular fiction, as well as non-fiction, children's, and reference titles at savings of 50% or more.
Our Quality Commitment
We take great pride in the quality and selection of our books because we know how important it is to you. We may not accept some books on trade, usually for the following reasons:
- We are overstocked on that title/author or we no longer carry that series/title
- The book is not in the condition our customers have come to expect from us
- The book is older that 5 years old (no time limit on classics and other selected titles)
- Hardback books are accepted soley at the store's discretion (usually limited to newer releases)
Trade Policy
Book Mark does not pay cash for books. Any book purchased new or used at Book Mark may be returned to Book Mark for used book store credit provided it is in resellable condition. The same is true for books purchased at Russo's Books (receipt required as proof-of-purchase). All other books will be accepted strickly on an "as needed" basis (see above).
Our user-friendly trade policy remains the same as it has been since 1989...
- paperback books earn you store credit equal to 25% of the book's cover price
- paperback books are sold at 50% of the book's cover price
- any time you purchase a book using store credit, your are charged a 25 cent filing fee plus tax
- used hardbacks earn you store credit equal to 25% to 50% of the amount for which we will sell it
